Aberdeen Business School’s philosophy is that the MBA should be a toolbox which provides you with skills as well as a higher level of critical thinking that you can use throughout your career. Aberdeen Business School offers a Full-time MBA, a Part-time Executive MBA and an Online MBA, as well as specialized MBAs in Oil and Gas Management, and Transport Strategy and Management. Hands-on learning opportunities include a six-week business simulation exercise, and a ten week consultancy project. All applicants must have at least 3 years of work experience in order to be considered for Aberdeen’s MBA program. The majority of students have between 3 and 9 years of work experience (52%) and work in middle management positions (39%).

Launched in 2005, Aberdeen’s online program uses the same course content, materials, and subject specialists as the on-campus program. Second-year students are required to attend a ten-day on-campus leadership workshop. In addition to core and specialist modules, students have to complete a double-module in strategic management and a dissertation. Online courses are taught within the Campus Moodle learning environment which incorporates group email, discussion boards, web broadcasting, and Skype conferencing. Additional online MBA options are an online MBA in Information Management and an MBA in Oil and Gas Management offered in conjunction with Curtin University in Perth, Australia. The program lasts 2 years and 8 months.
