ESMT's MBA program is rich with all kinds of different activities that aim to foster learning and enhance experience. IFS (International Field Seminar) is one of the important and unique experiences I had during my MBA program at ESMT. Just a week ago I came back from California, where I and my classmates spent 10 days visiting 11 different companies in the heart of Silicon Valley and San Francisco. One may wonder what IFS is and what is so special about it.

Already half a year has passed since the start of the MBA program at ESMT, and after a three-week summer vacation we are back to our studies. We used the vacation to relax and recover from the intensive program, but also to reflect on what we learnt so far and to plan our future career. Some students from our class used this opportunity to do internships in different companies and some other students did their first steps for establishing their own businesses.

As online MBA programs become more popular, more people are looking into one-year online MBA programs. In addition to the convenience of studying from home, you could get your MBA in half the time. But are there any accredited online MBA programs out there? And is a one-year online MBA worth it?

I am a New Yorker at heart. I was born and raised in northeastern New Jersey, and that has played a huge part in developing my values. Inevitably, it contributed to my need for a fast pace and quick-witted thinking. For my undergraduate program, I completed a four-year degree in three and a half years, and I knew that my graduate school studies would also need to go faster than normal. That is why, in the end, I knew that a one-year MBA suited me better than a two-year program. I felt no need to drag out a program that could ultimately be quicker.

MBA programs are expensive, especially if you are studying abroad. The Kofi Annan Fellowship at ESMT is a fellowship grant awarded to an emerging leader from a developing country, so they can attend ESMT's one-year full-time MBA program in Berlin, Germany.

The fashion industry generates $20 billion of revenue each year. In the United States alone, over $250 billion is spenton fashion anually. Over 4 million people work in the fashion industry, which means that fashion lovers who are better at business than design still have a chance to work in the industry. While the fashion industry is concentrated in New York City, California, Italy, Miami, Milan, London and Paris, fashion industry employers are located in most parts of the world.

The obvious difference between 1 Year and 2 Year MBA is the amount of time it takes to get your degree. It takes 11 to 16 months to get the 1 Year MBA as opposed to the four semesters involved in getting your 2 Year MBA. There are other major differences, however, beyond the amount of time it takes to get your degree.
